Whirligig by Paul Fleischman is about a boy named Brent. Brent hates himself and wants to commit suicide. While he is driving home from a party, he gets into a car accident and kills the other gir. To pay his respects to the family, he must go to each corner of the United States and make a whirligig there. The book is about his experience in each corner of the U.S. and how the whirligigs affected other people.
